Best of the Show Ball
The Oakey Show is only ten days away, but all eyes were on Goombungee on the weekend as the district began its countdown to the 110th Goombungee-Haden Show with the annual Show Ball on Saturday night.
A lively crowd of dancers, showgirl entrants and their families made their way to the Goombungee Hall for the occasion.
After some dancing and entertainment, the winners were announced as follows, headlined by with Oakey-employed Jacinta Langston.

Show Society Secretary Kylie Welke thanked those in attendance for showing up to the Ball and supporting the Show Society.
“A big thank you to everyone who came to our Show Ball on Saturday,” she said.
“Congratulations to all the entrants and winners.
“We are very lucky to have you all representing our show.”
Combined, the two Open Showgirl entrants Jacinta and Alisha raised a total of $8732 for the Show Society.
Alisha thanked her community, family and partner for the support they had given her along the way, enabling her to overcome her anxiety.
For her part, Jacinta said she’d learned a lot about Goombungee in the process.
