Mary Reibey’s outstanding contribution to Australian history was recognised in 1994 when her portrait appeared on the nation’s twenty dollar banknote. Also depicted are the Reibey’s George Street houses and their sailing vessel Mercury. Mary remains as one of the few convicts who have been honoured on our currency.
