Pursehouse Rural Clifton were joined by local veterinarian, Chris Reardon, from the Warwick Vet Clinic.

Chris was a familiar face to many producers in attendance, having clinics in Warwick, Allora and Clifton.

He discussed with the group the newly developed Immune Ready Guidelines, a best practice initiative recently published by the Australian Veterinary Association and the Australian Cattle Veterinary Association, with backing from industry leaders including Meat & Livestock Australia, Zoetis, Virbac, Coopers Animal Health, Cattle Council of Australia, Dairy Australia, Australian Lot Feeders Association and Animal Health Australia.

The Immune Ready Guidelines are best practice guidelines for cattle vaccination programs followed by producers in the Australian cattle industry.

They allow buyers to assess the vaccination status of cattle before purchase and set out clear processes for producers to get ahead of diseases affecting the productivity of their herd.

The workshop was well attended by approximately 30 producers running cattle production operations across the Darling Downs.

Also in attendance on the day were Cameron Harms and Michael Laird from McCormack Industries with an array of farm machinery available for customers to inspect.

Pursehouse Rural will continue to provide workshops for producers and growers in the Darling Downs area.

For information on upcoming event speak to the staff at Pursehouse Rural Clifton, located at 58 King Street.
