Clifton Landcare & Scouts join forces
On a clear and chilly Sunday morning, 17 August, local Scouts Brodie Delvendiep, Darrien Hilton, Yowie Liz Delvendiep and Landcare members Stephanie, Clive, Louise, Randolf and Murray met up at Clifton Landcare’s 3.5ha Bulloak Jewel Butterfly habitat near Leyburn to seek out and remove seedling Prickly Pear and Harissa cacti.

Landcare member Louise Skidmore said it was a great opportunity for the Scouts to achieve a coveted environment badge.
She said Clifton Landcare very much appreciated their help with the weeding!
“We were delighted that the Scouts expertly cooked up a barbecue for lunch after a very productive morning,” Ms Skidmore said.
The Bulloak Jewel Butterfly is a critically endangered species only found in a few isolated places in Queensland.
