Fires provide warning to be prepared
Fires at Oakey and Aubigny this week have provided residents with the opportunity to warn residents to be prepared for bushfire season.
A fire at Aubigny on Tuesday afternoon last week started just after 1.30pm when hay caught fire in a shed on a property on the Oakey-Pittsworth Road.
Six QFES crews were present at various times over the course of four hours and left the scene at 6.20pm.
Meanwhile, a vegetation fire burned a significant proportion of a bank at Gordon Park on Lorrimer Street near Oakey Creek on Sunday night opposite St. Monica’s School.
The blaze briefly restarted on Monday, but was quickly spotted and contained.
