Free Wi-Fi? Not here mate!

Free access to Wi-Fi is available across many parts of the Toowoomba Region, thanks to an agreement between the Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) and Telstra.

It’s available at hotspots in the Toowoomba CBD, in several Toowoomba parks and in the regional towns of Cecil Plains, Clifton, Millmerran, Goombungee, Oakey and Yarraman.

Users can access up to 30 minutes of free wi-fi each day at these locations.

TRC also offers free access to Wi-Fi at libraries across the Toowoomba Region.

However across the area serviced by On Our Selection News there are no free Wi-Fi hotspots nominated under the TRC/Telstra deal.

Telstra has free public phones at Westbrook, Wyreema, Greenmount, East Greenmount, Nobby and Cambooya however they do not extend to free Wi-Fi access.

Maybe it’s time for local residents to get in to the ear of the next Councillor they see?
