Glow Worms shine in tennis final
The Pittsworth Tennis Club hosted the finals of the fixtures for the 2025 season.
The finals were between the Boa Constrictors and the Glow Worms.
The Glow Worms shone brightly in the final winning the match 54 games to 38.
The match was a lot closer than the scores would suggest with some excellent shots played and long rallies fought out.
The Glow Worms team was Jack Wilkinson, Megan Smith, Tony Gorring, Brett Dolley, Alison Parker and Kierra Cousen.
The Boa Constrictors team was Ian Chandler, Phil Thompson (sub for Liam Cousen), Tim Antonio, Annette O’Sullivan, Julianne McEwan and Lyndon Hillier.
The three set winners were Jack, Brett and Alison for the Glow Worms and none for the Boas.
A big difference in the match was Brett Dolley’s performance as he was able to dominate that number four spot.
I would like to congratulate all players for your effort in making the finals and the excellent sportsmanship displayed during the match.
There will be a break from fixtures now until school starts in the new year.
There will be social tennis on Wednesday nights during the break for anyone interested, starting at 7.30.
