Making a difference

On Sunday, March 22, the local cadets and scouts rolled up their sleeves for Clean Up Australia Day at the Pittsworth showgrounds.

Each year the event is held in March and it’s the efforts of these volunteers that have our town looking clean and tidy, especially after recent events such as the Pittsworth Show, and Showcasing Pittsworth and Surrounds.

Clean Up Australia Day Co-ordinator Ros Scotney, thanked all those involved for their efforts in caring for the environment.

The national initiative started 35 years ago, and over the years, more than 23 million volunteers have stepped up and donated their time to improve the environment.
