The facility is being built on a triangular 4,060m² block adjacent to the railway corridor and across from Pittsworth State High School.

Plans for the facility were received by Toowoomba Regional Council in August 2024 from Round Tree Developments Pty Ltd, and construction officially commenced in March this year.

The facility will include a total of 101 storage sheds contained within five separate buildings.

This was amended from the original plan for 107 sheds within seven separate buildings.

The new development will be utilised for self storage purposes and will be accessible only to customers.
