Open Day at Millmerran's new hospital
Darling Downs Health is hosting a community open day to tour the Millmerran Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) which is in the final stages of construction.
The open day, on Wednesday, 9th April, will give people the opportunity to tour the grounds between 10.30am and 12.30pm at the construction site on Commens Street.
Tours will be departing every 15 minutes, and visitors are required to wear closed in shoes.
Residents can drop-in any time during the session to tour the new facility before it starts taking patients.
F. K. Gardner & Sons, is making rapid progress, applying the finishing touches internally with painting, floor vinyl laying, and services fit-off.
Despite some challenging weather conditions, the facility is on track to be completed in the coming months.
After the new facility is complete, the next stage will involve demolishing the existing facility to create a welcoming entry with ample car parking and landscaping.
The Millmerran MPHS will enable the delivery of modern, high-quality healthcare to residents in Millmerran and surrounds.
The new complex will be situated on the existing hospital campus and will include:
An eight-bed inpatient unit
A five-bed residential aged care space
Dedicated acute and non-acute areas
A new helipad
