It is hosted every year at the Peranga Bowls Club  by Senior Constable Chris Hay to raise funds for the Quinalow and Kulpi State Schools and the Maclagan-Windermere Kindergarten.

This year’s event featured a total of eighteen teams competing for local glory and social prestige.

Representatives from the Kulpi State School P&C were present as well as from the Quinalow community and other small localities.

Although dinner was delayed, no blame could be placed on the volunteers in the kitchen who were working hard to make sure the large crowd did not go home hungry

Senior Constable Hay said the event has been a wild success since he first ran it.

“I have been holding the event since 2017, with the exception of 2019 and 2020,” he said.

“Not only do I have bowls, but I also put on a movie for the kids in the Peranga Hall and have an amateur astronomy group come out from Brisbane with their telescopes, which is a huge hit with everyone.

“This year I managed to raise $8,500 and since 2017, when I started, I have raised just under $34,000 for the schools and kindergarten in the Peranga police division.”

Attendees reported having a great time.
