Pittsworth talents shine for Western Mustangs
Two talented students from Pittsworth have made their school and community proud after competing at the Corey Parker 9s Carnival earlier this month.

Hunter Collins and Darcy Sutton, both students at Pittsworth State High School, were selected to represent the Under 15 Western Mustangs at the carnival.
The two day event was held on 7th and 8th February at Bill Norris Oval in Beenleigh, bringing together some of the region’s most promising young rugby league players.
Hunter and Darcy earned their place in the Western Mustangs side following strong performances with their respective Toowoomba Junior Rugby League clubs.
Hunter plays for Valleys, while Darcy took a turn with Highfields and now plays for Souths.
Their consistent effort and skill throughout the season demonstrated they were ready to compete at a higher level.
Heading into the carnival as underdogs, the Western Mustangs embraced the challenge ahead.
The team faced five tough round matches and delivered an impressive campaign, winning four of those games to secure a well-deserved place in the Grand Final.
While the Mustangs narrowly missed out on claiming the title, their performance across the weekend did not go unnoticed.
The team’s grit, resilience and fearless style of football earned widespread praise, quickly establishing them as the surprise packet of the tournament.
Hunter and Darcy represented their school, their clubs and the Western Mustangs with pride, determination and heart.
Their efforts are a credit to themselves and to the Pittsworth community.
