Ranch Sorting At Allora - A Family Affair

Last weekend an enthusiast group of riders attended the second round of the Ranch Sorting National Championships Australa (RSNCA) at the Allora Showground.

Riders come from across New South Wales and Queensland with a good representation from around our region.

Three rounds are held at Allora with the final round in November.

For the uninitiated Ranch sorting is a timed event, not a judged event and is typically a 2-man team sorting 10 cattle numbered 0-9 and 1 unnumbered cow for a total of 11 head.

It’s a popular family sport where all members can compete together.
