This one’s for the girls
On Sunday, 29th March, the Pittsworth Hotel Motel was buzzing with excitement as ladies from across the district gathered to celebrate their love of fashion at Lilly Pilly Style Boutique’s high tea and fashion parade.

One hundred and seven tickets were sold for the event which showcased the latest of Lilly Pilly Style Boutique’s early autumn winter range, including jeans, long sleeve dresses, light knits and pant sets.
Boutique owner Tammy Vary, said the day was a success and she was pleased to be able to bring together ladies who love fashion, to see the latest styles that are trending.
“Chocolate and navy are the colours of the season,” she said.
Models for the fashion parade were Nikki Pembleton, Ann Cobb, Lyn Wagland, Carlie Smith, Peta Watt and Cynthia Pfeffer.
Raffles for the event were donated by a number of local businesses, and sold for only $1 and $2.
The proceeds from the raffles, which totalled $1,180, were donated to the Pittsworth and District Women’s Shed.
There was a table of ladies from the Women’s Shed who were rendered speechless by the generosity of those present.
“We were very surprised. We were overwhelmed that it was so much,” a representative said.
The money will be put toward purchasing larger pieces for the creation of things like bibs, breast pillows and seat belt protectors to donate to hospitals and aged care facilities.
Ms Vary was very hands-on preparing the event, working closely with Steve and Bec at the Pittsworth Hotel Motel, to achieve the vision she had for the high tea.
Most of the cups and saucers were supplied by Tammy’s mother, Ann Cobb.
The hotel provided sandwiches, cakes, fruit trays, hot food and catered for special dietary requirements such as vegetarian and gluten free.
Each of the ladies received a goodie bag which included a mini bottle of wine, candy Easter egg from Pittsworth Confectionery, a 10 per cent voucher and pen from Lilly Pilly, and a promotional voucher from the new bakery.
Pittsworth State High School student Emily Peck delighted the ladies with musical renditions on the keyboard during the morning.
Toowoomba Region Councillor Melissa Taylor was in attendance.
