Tom Curtain's outback experience comes to town
On Saturday, Golden Guitar winner Tom Curtain performed in Pittsworth as part of the Here's To You tour, celebrating ten years of bringing his award-winning Katherine Outback Experience to communities across Australia.

Melanie Gray from Darwin and Chris Matthews from Kununurra kicked things off onstage before the outback show began which included barrel races, sack races for the kids, and working dog demonstrations.
Hours of live music followed with songs from Curtain's chart-topping album and a performance by Laura Frank.
“Our shows are raw and real, no two are the same because the animals have their own personalities, so it’s unpredictable, funny and heartfelt,” Curtain said.
“One bloke told me 'that wasn’t just a show about training horses or dogs, it was a show about understanding animals and our own humanity' and that’s exactly what we try to share.”
Curtain finished the night on Saturday with his set and a full band accompanying him, before inviting local Dom Galloway, who has an intellectual disability, to join him.
Curtain had signed Dom's guitar earlier in the night, and discovered that it was his dream to perform on stage - something he'd never done before.
In the final performance, Dom played alongside Curtain on stage, making his dream come true.
Tom Curtain is not the only country music star Dom has met, having rubbed shoulders with Lee Kernaghan in Toowoomba in October.
The Here's To You tour continues to build on Curtain's long-standing partnership with Dolly's Dream, which focuses on bullying prevention, online safety and mental wellbeing.
He regularly visits schools to perform Speak Up, a song written in Amy "Dolly" Everett's memory, and to encourage students to be kind and stand up for others.
Over the past decade, the Katherine Outback Experience has grown from a small act with just one horse, two dogs and a swag into a large-scale production beloved by families, often bringing three or four generations together on the dance floor.
“Some of the most rewarding moments are when people come up after a show with tears in their eyes, thanking us for bringing joy to their town,” Curtain said.
The tour kicked off in October and will run until August 2026.
