$40,000 commitment to poultry club
Leader of The Nationals and Member for Maranoa David Littleproud has announced that an elected Coalition Government will throw its support behind the Southern Downs Poultry Club in the form of a $40,000 commitment toward upgrades of the club’s facility at the Allora Showgrounds.

Mr Littleproud said the funds would go toward upgrading the poultry pavilion’s flooring, installing new ceiling fans, and new poultry boxes.
“The Southern Downs Poultry Club has a proud tradition of social connection within the community, as well as on the Queensland agricultural show circuit,” Mr Littleproud said.
“These upgrades will allow the Southern Downs Poultry Club to continue to offer benefits to the community in the comfort of state-of-the-art facilities.”
Southern Downs Poultry Club president Leanne Doepel said the club has been an institution within the region since 1985, and the Coalition’s commitment would help secure the club’s future for the next generation.
“These upgrades will allow us to have a facility that would be the envy of poultry clubs across the state,” Ms Doepel said.
“Our club has been fundraising to help make this project a reality for more than 12 months, and this commitment from the Coalition will be a major game changer for us.
“This project will not only make for a much more comfortable experience for visitors and exhibitors but will help ensure our club remains viable for our future generations.”
