Wattles Winners in Stanthorpe
Wattles Warriors young stars of the future headed south to Stanthorpe on Saturday enjoying a day of success against the local Gremlins.

Under 6 - Although short of playing staff, the Clifton Upholstery Wattles Under 6’s the boys banked plenty of tries.
Hunter Gault crossed for an impressive eight touchdowns, Braxton Harper six and Jace Macura a try double.
The players enjoyed their game in a great day out.
Under 7 - The Willett Electrical Warrior’s put on a great display of defence in a very pacy game.
Hot feet Henry Ferguson made some excellent tackles, while James Patterson showed class passing to his team mates resulting in many touchdowns.
Wattles Archie Moore received recognition for his fine sportsmanship, giving up his run to another member of the team.
Henry Ferguson, James Patterson, Archie Moore, George Mullen, Chaz Daley and Buddy Turner all pocketed impressive tries.
Under 8 - Hotel, Allora Under 8’s put in a stand out effort against their opponents.
In a touchdown rich encounter with tries to Carter Lyons, Rhys Gascoyne and William Erhlich, man of the match Toby Schmidt highlighted with his effective tackling technique.
A 40-metre dash resulted in a classy Henry Johnson try, while both Chaz Burcher and Chaz Daley showed commitment first receiver Lachlan Wapau set up two.
Under 9 - The Dalrymple Landscape Haulage Under 9 line-up put together their best effort of the season against the Gremlins.
Wattles tries came with regularity, but their try line was rarely breached.
Highlights of the game included an outstanding five try haul to William Berry and a fantastic touchdown saving tackle by Malakai Darlington centimetres from his try line.
Malakai and Riley Boom also entertained with plenty of weaving runs.
Under 10 - effort that saw the Warriors Black Toyota, Warwick Under 10’s finish on the right side of the score ledger.
In a dominant effort where the youngsters highlighted their ever-improving ball handling skills, attacking play and defence the Warriors ran in eight touchdowns without any conceded.
Coach Russell McMillan is more than happy with the progress of his squad on their journey through the season.
Under 11 - Wattles’ Clifton Auto Ag Services Under 11’s enjoyed success with a four try, three conversions to one result.
With limited games played over the last six weeks, the team was rusty in both attack and defence.
While defensive discipline was lacking, Coach Ian Brady is expecting a far better display this Saturday against Goondiwindi.
For Wattles Jed Hinz, William Bishop, Riley Hardy and Jake Burns scored tries, with Jake, Jed and Cooper Zadow all kicking conversions.
Riley Hardy defended brilliantly and easily had his best game since joining the Warriors
Under 12 - The Ryanie for Tyres Warriors Under 12’s finished ahead of the Gremlins 28 – 4.
Hugh Denny (2), Bailey Gascoyne, James Saddlier, Ty Betts, Jack Burton and Archie Holden all crossed for tries.
Front rower James Robertson contributed a strong game, while Lucas Stace, Bailey Gascoyne and Nate Murdoch went well in their new roles.
Once again stinging defence by Betts and Burton laid the foundation for a great team win.
Under 13 - It was a sweet victory for the U 13 Nutrien Harcourts Cooke Real Estate Warriors over a very improved Stanthorpe outfit.
After being starved for ball for much of the initial fifteen minutes, Wattles took control and ran away 44 – 0 winners.
Jackson Bateman enjoyed a big defensive game, while others to impress included three try scorer Zac Wheeldon along with Orry Gilmore and Henry McMillan.
Under 15 - The Drayton Medical Centre Under 15 Warriors were in gear early through a Dante Shepphard-Picton touchdown opening the gate to a very satisfying 32 – 6 win.
A highlight of Corey Gascoyne’s game was his strong ball running, while Max Parry was solid in defence.
Coach Tom Duggan was impressed with his team’s resilience when down a man due to a sin binning.
Dante Shepphard-Picton scored his second off a Paddy Denny chip just prior to the break.
Billy Peardon sliced through to score early in the new half, igniting Wattles superior fire power on their way to victory.
Wattles 32 (Dante Shepphard-Picton 2, Billy Peardon 2, Harry Marshall, Charlie Spina tries; Paddy Denny 3, Billy Peardon goals) defeated Stanthorpe 6.
Under 15 Ladies League Tag - The Wattles Club Hotel Under 15 girls collected a well-structured 32 – 10 win over the Gremlinettes, to add to the day’s green and gold triumphs.
The young Warriorettes snatched seven touchdowns on the way to the final whistle including three try doubles.
Point scorers: Teeah Davis (2), Sarah Morris (2), Alex Gilmore (2) and Summer Marin tries; Alex Gilmore three goals.
Under 17 - The Shane Wright coached Hamblin Builders Wattles Under 17’s outplayed the Gremlins to win 26 – 10.
The home side scored either side of the halftime break but otherwise it was all Wattles in a solid all-round performance.
Lock Sam Gilmore was in great form while back-rowers George Nott and McCabe Miller offered sterling support.
Fullback Jack Wright also posted a classy all-round game while winger Koby De Luca proved more that capable under numerous high ball tests.
Warriors’ newcomer Lachlan Clements continues to show his worth on the backline fringes.
Daniel Morris (2), Hamish Gartery, Koby De Luca and Sam Gilmore touched down for tries with Bryce Stewart claiming three goals.
Under 17 Ladies League Tag - The Club Hotel Wattles team snatched the competition points in the Under 17 Ladies League Tag contest 26 – 4 over a capable Stanthorpe line-up.
Representative player Reagon McMillan made an impact on her opponents and was rewarded with a try double for her efforts.
Abbey Monkton, Hannah McElhone and Sarah Morris also added tries to the winning total, with Steph Lyons contributing with three goals.
Round 12 Platz Oval Super Saturday
Wattles take on the Goondiwindi Junior Boars this Saturday in a Platz Oval Super Saturday prior to Wattles seniors clash with the Highfields Eagles.
