Wildcats painted pink for breast cancer awareness
At their most recent matches, the Pittsworth Wildcats proudly traded green for pink in support of the Toowoomba Netball Association’s Pink Day to raise awareness for breast cancer and honour those impacted by the disease.

Pink Day was the final day of competition for the first part of the season, with the Wildcats returning to the courts on July 19th.
Set blue Cubs
The girls played a great game against Saints, moving around the circle edge and opening space to pass into the shooting circle. All of the girls played an amazing game, and the player of the match was Libby.

11C Lions
Looking their best in all things pink, the girls took a while to thaw out but once they did, they played some wonderful netball against Saints Jupiter. There was plenty of movement down the middle court with less bunching, allowing the game to flow nicely. Each week we are seeing less turnovers of the ball for contact or travelling. It was our highest scoring game with 16 goals, and another win for the first part of the season. The player of the match was Libby.

11A Pumas
The Pumas may have gone down 15–7 against the Dominoes Dragonflies but the game was nothing short of impressive. The Pumas held their heads high with impressive defensive pressure that kept the score margin lower than expected. The girls disrupted the Dragonflies’ attack with tight marking, timely intercepts, and relentless contesting of the ball. Ella and Reva anchored the defensive end with fierce determination. Sophia’s versatility shone through as she switched between defence, midcourt, and shooting. Lizzie combined sharp defensive instincts with strong midcourt support. In the midcourt, Flossie, Lacey, and Willow showed off their training efforts, particularly in driving off the mark and cutting forward into space to receive passes. Hayley’s agility in both the shooting circle and midcourt ensured strong linking play and tireless movement. In the circle, our shooters worked hard to create opportunities under heavy pressure. Overall, the girls played an excellent game and should be very proud of the fight they put up against a difficult team.

12C LEOPARDS
The Leopards pulled off another win against Saints Solar Flares, 14-9! We had a slow start to the game with the score being 6-1 to Saints at half-time. But the girls dug deep to turn the game around and pull off an eight point turnover in the third quarter. The Leopards created passing opportunities all the way up the court and moved the ball into our shooting circle. I am so proud of the girls for not giving up. Player of the match was Gabrielle Simpson.

13A Tigers
The Tigers were up against Fairholme 13 Gold. The girls had a tough game this round with Fairholme coming out on top. Plenty of movement was made around the court however some overhead passes inhibited our ability to progress to the circle at times. Despite the score, the girls showed great team resilience and kept playing hard as a team. Thank you to Brooke Cavanagh for playing up for this round.

14-16s Cadet H Lynx
Another great game by the Lynx team, walking away with a 32-10 win. The girls did well in all areas from finding space, tight defence, accurate shooting and communication.

14-16s Cadet D Panthers
The Panthers showed up to the court dressed in their pink tutus, trendy socks, and pumped up by sugar, ready to play their hearts out against Fairholme Inter Navy. And that they did, pulling off an incredible win of 51-5. What a great game it was to watch, I am so proud of how far these girls have come as a team! They were effortlessly moving the ball down the court, creating space, intercepting, and defending like crazy. Our player of the match was Mahli Watson.

16-18’s Cadet A Cheetahs
The Cheetahs came into the game a little hesitantly as they only had five of their original players - thank you to Mahli and Tavay for subbing in. The Cheetahs slowly started to find their flow as the game went on, with some brilliant intercepts, and passes down the court and into the circle. Despite giving it their all and playing hard, the Cheetahs did not come out on top but definitely did not go down without a fight.

Div 2 Cougars
The Cougars were victorious 39-23 against Saints, leading the way throughout. Hard set defence at our attacking end was one of the keys to our win, along with great shooting and effortless ball movement throughout the centre. Some great athleticism was shown by our players, with deflections, intercepts and tips.
